Default section elements

Five specialized section elements are created automatically when you create a new report template: CoverSheet, ReportHeader, PageHeader, PageFooter, and ReportFooter.

You can insert entry elements in the default section elements, but you cannot delete the default section elements.

You can edit the settings for all header and footer section elements: Alignment, Font, and Expressions.

To edit a section element, right-click the element in the format template tree and click Property.

For more information about expressions, see Data journal elements and the format template.

  • CoverSheet

The CoverSheet section element defines how the content on the cover sheet of the report displays using the CoverSheet section element.

Note: When testing the report in the RtReports editor, the cover sheet is displayed in the report preview in the Report tab. The cover sheet is not shown when viewing the report in RtReports generator. When the report is printed, the cover sheet is printed with the report.

Configuration is not required to use the CoverSheet section element, but you must associate an entry element with it by right-clicking the CoverSheet node, selecting Insert > Entry.

  • ReportHeader

The ReportHeader section element defines how the content at the top of the report displays.

  • ReportFooter

The ReportFooter section element defines how the content at the bottom of a report displays.

  • PageHeader

The PageHeader section element defines how the content at the top of each page within a report displays.

  • PageFooter

The PageFooter section element defines how the content at the bottom of each page within a report displays.

  • Horizontal Align

Specifies the horizontal alignment position for the element.

  • Font

Specifies font properties for the text that displays in the element.

  • Condition

Specifies the condition expression for the element.
