Asset context template

Users can insert an asset context template into the data template of a time-based report and batch-based report under time templates.The AF asset data context is defined within a batch or time report template in the Asset Context Template Edit window. Users can insert an asset context template into the data template of a time-based report, and insert an asset context template into the data template of a batch-based report, under the time template. The AF Server\AF Database will be used from the source event frame or input parameters.

Select a time template object in the data template tree where you want to insert an asset context template, then right click and click Insert > Asset Context Template. Asset context templates can be inserted into the context of other asset context templates (nested). You can edit the asset context template by right clicking the asset context template and clicking Property.

  • Template Name

    The template of the AF element to match the AF database. The GUID and the name are stored in the report template. First, the assets are searched based on the template GUID. if nothing is found they are searched by template name.

  • Asset Name

    The name of the element to match. This can be a full name, or a wild-card search that will result in a number of AssetContextJournal objects in the data journal.

  • Display Name

    The display name for the template node in the data journal.

  • Root Path

    An AF path (root path) can be empty (only if AF server\database are selected as a root path). The report data template only stores the path without the AF Server name and AF Database. Users need to select an AFServer\AF Database in order to run the report. This path is appended to the root path.

  • Sort Order

    The sort order by name of AssetContextJournal objects in the data journal.

  • Description

    The description for the template that appears in the data journal.

  • All Descendants

    Check this box to search all levels of asset hierarchy below the specified root for matching assets. If the box is not checked, only immediate children will be searched.
