Verify unique batch IDs on the new PI Server

If the PI Server being upgraded also contains batch data that was used to run against report templates, you should verify that the unique IDs for the batches are the same on the new PI Server as they were on the old PI Server.

If the unique IDs do not match, then comments, verifications and approvals written to batch reports will not be visible after the PI Server upgrade.

  1. On the RtReports server, launch the PI BatchView QuickSearch application.

  2. Click Options to launch the QuickSearch Options window.

  3. In the Column Types pane, expand Other Columns and select Unique ID.

  4. Click Add to add this column to the search results grid for QuickSearch, then click OK to close the window.

  5. Search for batches for a particular time range on the old PI Server and check the Unique ID values for several batches, preferably ones used by batch reports in RtReports.

  6. Search for the same time range of batches on the new PI Server. Verify that the Unique ID values are the same on both servers.

    Note: To avoid confusion, do not perform batch searches during this procedure. Because both PI Servers contain batch data with the same unique IDs, there is no control over which PI Server the results come from.
