User groups and permissions

You must belong to an RtReports group with edit permissions to create report templates in the editor. Any user who is a member of an RtReports group with administrator privileges can edit or review any report template on that server.

Administrator group members can also control the edit and execute permissions for each report template. Groups listed in the report edit list can be allowed or denied permissions to edit and to execute report templates.

Allow

Any user within the group can open and modify the report template configurations.

Any user within the group can run the report template.

Deny

Any user within the group can open and view the report template, but cannot modify it.

The group cannot open or view the report template. When group members sign in to the generator, the report is not listed.

Users in groups with editing rights may:

  • View a report template in the editor

  • Create new report templates

  • Edit the report template in the editor

  • Assign additional security groups to the report template

  • Define review cycles to the report template

Users in groups with reviewing rights may:

  • Reject the template and indicate a reason

  • Return the template to in-edit status, requiring the review process to begin again when the template is ready
