RtReports upgrade pre-installation tasks

Optional: If you are also upgrading the PI Server for RtReports, complete that procedure before upgrading RtReports.

You must upgrade to RtReports 5.1 from RtReports 4.0.2 or later.

Note: If upgrading from a version between 3.3 and 4.0.2, you may first upgrade to RtReports 5.0 before upgrading again. For versions earlier than RtReports 3.3, you may need to back up your configuration files before upgrading. Refer to the documentation of the earlier version to ensure you have performed all the necessary upgrade tasks for that version before upgrading to RtReports 5.0.

If you currently have RtReports 3.2 or prior installed, you must uninstall that version before installing 4.x/5.x.

Note: If you are upgrading from RtReports 5.0 and earlier to RtReports 5.1 or later, you will have the option to migrate RtReports application data from PI Module Database in the PI Data Archive to an Asset Framework Server's Configuration database. The installing user must have read and write access to the Asset Framework Server's Configuration database. More information can be found at RtReports application data storage.
