RtReports upgrade pre-installation tasks

Optional: If you are also upgrading the PI Server for RtReports, complete that procedure before upgrading RtReports.

You must upgrade to RtReports 5.0 from RtReports 3.3 or later.

Note: For earlier versions than RtReports 3.3, you may need to back up your configuration files before upgrading. Refer to the documentation of the earlier version to ensure you have performed all the necessary upgrade tasks for that version before upgrading to RtReports 5.0.

Optional: If you want to use the group privileges of the old RtReports server on the new RtReports server, export the security database settings to a .xml file and replace references to the old RtReports server with the name of the new RtReports server before you upgrade.

Optional: If the security.xml file was modified for a previous version of RtReports installed on the same machine, you must export the settings, then import them into the security database when the new version is installed.

If you currently have RtReports 3.2 or prior installed, you must uninstall that version before installing 4.x/5.x.
