Format template tree

  • Last UpdatedJan 24, 2023

When you create a report template, the format template hierarchy is created and populated with the default section elements. You can view the format template hierarchy by clicking the Format Template tab in RtReports editor.

The default elements of the format template are root node, indicated by the name of the report template, and five standard format template section elements:

  • CoverSheet

  • ReportHeader

  • PageHeader

  • PageFooter

  • ReportFooter

The root node of the format template tree defines global settings that determine how the format template interacts with the RtReports generator. You can modify global settings in the Report Edit window by right-clicking the root node of the format template and selecting Property.

You can insert format template elements within the section elements to create a nested hierarchy of related elements, such as table row elements within a table element.
