Data templates

A data template sets the rules for gathering report data, and consists of context elements and journal actions.

You select the type of data template when you create a new report by clicking File > New and selecting either Batch Report Template or Time Report Template.

Context element hierarchy

You can create either a batch or time-based context structure to resemble your process model. Children nodes inherit the properties of the parent node in the structure unless the child has an independent definition of the parent's property.

A batch context can have a unit template, time-based template, element template, or journal action at the first level of the hierarchy.

After the first level, you can insert additional template types.

A time-based context can have a child time-based template, module template, element template or journal action at the first level of the hierarchy.
