Trend elements

A trend element inserts a formatted trend chart into a report using data from a trend result definition in the data journal.

You configure the trend element in the Trend Edit window.

To edit drawing elements, right-click the element node in the format template tree and then click Property.

  • Node Name

The node name in the format template tree for the trend element.

  • Source

Defines a source expression used to retrieve an object from the data journal.

The source expression should reference the Value element of the trend result definition.

  • Image

Defines the height and width of the element, in either pixels or a percent of the parent element, instead of using default trend element image dimensions.

Defines the margins for horizontal and vertical space, in pixels, between the trend image and other format elements in the report.

Defines the border size around the trend image.

Note: Explicitly setting a height or width of 100 percent for a trend object may cause the trend image to be cropped off when printing the report via Adobe Acrobat. In most cases, to have trends fill the length of the printed margins of the report, you should clear the Specify check boxes for Height and Width. The trend objects will fill the width of the printable area for all display and printer options.

  • Trend

Allows you to change the size of the trend image, while displaying the approximate size of the trend image using those settings.

  • Condition

A condition expression for the trend element.
