Report template security

Report template security refers to the ability to access report templates for editing and to have report designers and users accept a report template for use.

• A report template may be created by a single person or multiple people.

• Users must have edit access to that specific report template in order to change it.

A report template must run through a review cycle before being released for official use.

1. At each stage of the review cycle, a different user must review the report template and accept it for use.

2. At the final stage of the review cycle, an approval sets the report template status to Released.

3. The template is then available for official report generation.

Once a report has been generated, it must be approved. For a report to be approved, it runs through an approval route much like the report cycle for an unreleased template.
