Add report parameters

You add report parameters to report templates and edit them in the RtReports editor.

  1. To add or configure report parameters, click Tools > Report Parameters.

    Alternatively, right-click the root node of the data template tree and select Parameters.

    The Report Parameters Edit window opens.

    The current data template’s existing report parameters are listed in the Parameters pane on the left. Selecting a parameter displays the details on the right.

  2. To add a report parameter, click the + button and configure the parameter values.

  3. Optional: Assign parameter values for List type parameters.

    1. To view the list of values associated with this parameter, click the arrow in the Values field.

    2. To edit parameter list values, click the ellipsis button next to the Values field and enter values in the Parameter List Builder window.

      • Modify existing list values by double-clicking the row and editing the value.

      • List data types can be restricted to String or Numeric.

      • When exiting the Parameter List Builder window, parameter value types are validated against the restricted type. Attempts to insert an invalid parameter value during report generation results in a report error.

    3. Once all list values are added, click OK to return to the Report Parameter Edit window and click OK to accept all changes to all modified report parameters.

      Clicking Cancel discards all changes, including those made to the parameter list value definitions.
