In the RtReports editor, the time zone default server has been added to resolve the time zone for any data points. Before event frames were added, the data server that was specified when a report was generated resolved the time zone data points. With Event Frame reports, a data server is no longer required, so the time zone default server takes the place of the data server. The time zone default server is used in two cases:
-
Time reports that only use an asset server (required)
-
Batch reports that run against Event Frames (optional, time zone can be resolved from attributes on the Event Frame, but if specified, the time zone default server will take highest priority to resolve data points.)
In the RtReports Editor, with the format template selected, click Edit, and then click Properties to find the Time Zone- Default Server drop down.
Note: The time zone format shown will be based on the selected PI Server's time zone and locale. This affects the time zone short name when the ShowTimeZoneAbbreviations web.config flag is set to true, and if the time format contains 'zz' for the Time elements and Time UTC elements.
