Change ports

If you wish to use custom port numbers to connect Point Cloud Manager to MicroStation, you will need to create a text file in either of the following locations:

• %appdata%\LFM Software\LFM\

• C:\

The file must be named serverPortNumber.txt.

To change the port numbers:

1. After you have created this file, enter the new desired port number within the file and save it. Nothing else needs to be in this text file except for the port number, for example, 6129.

   

2. After you save the file, open AVEVA Point Cloud Manager, and in User options, change the Port Number for MicroStation to the same number you saved in the text file.

3. After this is done, you will have to restart Point Cloud Manager. Now the port numbers have been set up and matched, MicroStation will now be able to connect with Point Cloud Manager through this new port number rather than the default. If for any reason you want to stop using custom port numbers, delete the text file you created and change the user option back to the default of 6127.
