Point cloud control

In the accessories menu (or through the S3D CAD link toolbar) there are three tools that control the display of the point cloud.

Toggle Points

Select the Toggle Points icon to toggle the display of all points (including high resolution points) within the Smart Plant 3D environment.

This gives the ability to hide the points while modelling within a dense point cloud area. This example shows the same view with the points on and off:

Toggle Seed Points/Low Density Points

Seed points are the low density points seen in all the areas where a volume has not been refined. Turning the seed points off will show only a selected volume for clarity. If no volume is selected no points will be displayed. Select the button shown below to toggle seed points back on.

The images below are an example of a volume displayed with seed points turned on and the same volume with seed points turned off.

Toggle Edge Mode

Edge detect mode assists viewing outlines of objects in the point cloud. Select the Edge mode icon to enter this mode, then select again to return to the standard view.
