AVEVA Point Cloud Manager Configuration Standards

Before you configure Point Cloud Manager, it is recommended that you comply with the following security standards:

• For SQL Database authentication mode, use Microsoft authentication rather than mixed mode as it is a more robust authentication method.

• For security and functionality purposes, ensure that the client machine is running a version of Microsoft Windows that is still supported and that all the required drivers are up to date.

• You must ensure that the client machine is running a form of anti-malware software to secure the machine from external malicious attacks.

• When setting up passwords for User-Control, ensure that you use passwords that are unique and complex.

• When assigning permissions in User-Control, ensure that the users have only those permissions that are required.

• When sharing data, be careful with who you are sharing and ensure that you assign the right privileges.

• For cloud based functionality, ensure you are running the latest version of AVEVA Point Cloud Manager. This helps you get the best performance and functionality out of the product.

• When using Point Cloud Manager's cloud-based functionality, ensure the network you are using is secure.
