Volumes panel

The Volume Manager enables rapid access to stored project point cloud volumes. This alleviates the need to pick volumes every time the user visits the same area of interest in the survey. Each member of the team can open the project, view the Volume Manager, and Goto/Show the points relating to an area very quickly. Additionally, it is easy to jump between several key areas of the data. This is beneficial for project presentations or QA checking.

It may be desirable for the service provider to set up pre-prepared volumes to aid the design team. For example, if a rig has been scanned, the service provider may wish to compartmentalize the rig into the different modules.

When storing volumes in a text file the volume information is stored in the .lfm project file. Therefore, the parent directory should have write permissions for volumes data to be saved.

• Revisit stored volumes in later sessions by right-clicking Zoom Extents on named volume.

• This will jump the 3D display to the correct position to view the volume.

If a volume outline box is visible on the screen without points, right-clicking Show Only will introduce the points.
