The Volume Manager allows rapid access to stored project point cloud volumes. This alleviates the need to pick volumes every time the designer visits the same area of interest in the survey. For example, if the design team is adding additional complexity into an instrument room, the room can be selected in the points - and stored as a named item in the Volume Manager. Each member of the design team can then open the Dataset, view the Volume Manager, and Go to/Show the points relating to this area very quickly. Additionally, it is easy to jump between several key areas of the survey. This is beneficial for project presentations or QA checking.

Accessing stored volumes
When storing volumes in a text file, the file where the volume information is stored is located in the same folder as the LFD file of the Dataset being run. Therefore, this directory should have write permissions for volumes data to be saved.
To revisit stored volumes in later sessions, right-click Zoom to extents on named volume. This will take the 3D display to the correct position to view the volume.
If a volume outline box is visible on the screen without points, to introduce the points, right-click the menu option Show this Volume.

Often when working with large Datasets, specific working volumes can be pre-prepared so the designer is not distracted by viewing the whole point cloud. Also the Dataset can be compartmentalised to enable several people to have nominated working volumes for initial clash evaluation.
