To open a project in the cloud:
-
Go to File > Open > Cloud. This takes you to the Select a project window.
-
Sign in with your credentials and then select a project from the list. This displays the selected cloud project in the Server interface.
Note: You must have the Standard User permission added to your cloud project to load point data in the Server interface. When connected to a cloud project, you must have the Admin role to be able to use the Advanced Mode features.
To log out of a cloud project, click the project name at the top-right corner of the title bar and select Log out.
You could also open a cloud project from a .lfm project file, provided you have saved the cloud project to a local folder. For details, see Saving Cloud Projects.
Adding model files and floorplans to a cloud project
APCM enables you to upload object files when you're connected to a cloud project. Before you start importing object files, you must have the Upload User permission added to your cloud project.
For details on how to import an object file, see Objects panel. On importing an object file, a progress bar is displayed on the screen that shows the progress of the upload.
After you have imported your object files, Point Cloud Manager will upload the RVM/FBX/STL file to the project storage. This is displayed in the Point Cloud Manager session.
Important: You should only open files from a trustworthy source.
APCM also enables you to upload floorplans to a cloud loaded project. As soon as you place a floorplan in the Server interface, the floorplan is displayed in the Viewer interface as an entity in the sidebar and also in the main view when selected. Any change made to the floorplan in Server is reflected in Viewer and vice versa. For more information about floorplans, see Import floorplans.
You can also create and modify entities such as Volumes, Measurements, Markups and Benchmarks when connected to a cloud project. Any change made to the project in Server reflects even in Viewer on refresh and vice versa.
When taking measurements for cloud projects, Point Cloud Manager uses the Measurement Service for faster completion. At present, point/plane and two-point diameter measurements use the Measurement Service.
In a two-point pipe diameter measurement, on selecting the second point, the measurement is displayed as pending in the entity browser. A request is made to the measurement service in the background. When the result is available, the pending measurement details are displayed in the 3D view.
