Add 3D markups

Markups can be created and viewed in either the 3D view (for both points and HyperBubble data) or the BubbleView.
To display the different types of 3D Markup tools available, select the Add 3D Markup button on the Tools menu.

The Add 3D Markup button is also available directly within a BubbleView when it is opened in its own window.
Adding a point markup
This creates a spherical Markup of the desired size, centered around the point selected.
To create a point markup:

Select the Point button in the Add 3D Markup drop-down.

Then, click on the point of interest and drag the mouse cursor to the desired extents. As you drag the mouse you will see the spherical Markup adjust in size according to the mouse position.

When you are happy with the Markup size, release the mouse button.

On the 3D Markup window, select Save. The point markup is saved and is displayed in the Markup Workspace.

Adding a cylinder markup
This creates a cylindrical Markup initially fitted to the cylindrical shape selected.
To create a cylinder markup:

Select the Cylinder button in the 3D Markup drop-down.

Click on the cylinder start point, and then click on the cylinder end point. This displays the initial Markup based on the start and end points selected.

At this point, if you want to resize the Markup, click and drag the blue handles shown in the image.

You can also resize or reposition the cylinder markup by selecting the Translate/Rotate icon. This is positioned at the bottom-right corner of the Point Cloud Manager interface.

Each arc may be dragged to rotate the cylinder about the correspondingly coloured line, and the cylinder may be dragged to translate along the selected line.

When you are happy with the size and position of the cylinder, either right-click or press Enter to accept.

On the 3D Markup window, enter the markup details and select Save. The cylinder markup is saved and is displayed in the Markup Workspace.

Adding a box markup
This creates a box Markup of the desired size, centered around the point selected.
To add a box markup:

Select the Box button shown below and then select the center of the desired Markup.
This displays a box centered around the point picked.

To resize the box, click and drag one of the blue drag handles shown below.

You can also resize or reposition the box markup by selecting the Translate/Rotate icon shown below. This is positioned at the bottom-right corner of the BubbleView.

When you are happy with the size and position of the box, either right-click or press Enter to accept.

Then, on the 3D Markup window, enter the markup details and select Save. The box markup is displayed in the Markup Workspace.
Entering the markup details
The 3D Markup dialogue is shown below:

The descriptions for each tool is explained below:

Enter the Markup name in the Name field and (if desired) a description of the Markup in the text field underneath.

To modify the font, paragraph and Markup colour, use the tools at the top of the dialogue.

To add a hyperlink or label to a Markup, select the appropriate button at the top of the dialog, enter the desired label/URL and select OK.

To delete a URL or label, select the cross button at the right side of the field. Alternatively, select the URL or label and press the Delete key on the keyboard.

When all the desired options have been entered, select Save to add the 3D Markup.
