Measurements are logged in the Measurements tab. These can be transferred by clicking and dragging the measurements to the Projects Measurements section to be saved for future sessions. Measurements are also interactive meaning; the user can select a measurement in the Measurements tab and the relevant measurement is highlighted in the 3D Window or BubbleView and vice versa.

For information about taking measurements, please see section Tools menu.

Each measurement taken is listed under the Measurements Workspace in the Measurements tab. The icon and default name reflect the type of measurement.

Setting measurements as reference frames

Point measurements and tie-ins can be set as a reference so that all measurements are displayed relative to that point.

To set a reference frame:

  1. Either right-click on the desired point measurement/tie-in and select New > Reference Frame or click and drag the measurement onto the Measurements tab as shown below.

Point measurement dragged on to the measurements tab

This creates a reference frame object in the Measurements tab.

  2. Right-click on the reference frame objects and select Set as Reference. This places a red box at the top of the Measurement tab to remind the user there is a reference point set.

Reference point set denoted by a red banner above the measurements workspace

All measurements (including those taken prior to setting the reference frame) will now be displayed relative to the reference point.

  3. To remove the reference frame, select the red cross at the top-right corner of the reference frame box. After the reference frame has been removed all measurements will now be displayed in world coordinates.
