Add GPS benchmarks to cloud projects

For cloud projects, you need not take point measurements to create benchmarks. You can set up GPS benchmarks by simply creating benchmarks for a single dataset and adding GPS coordinates to those benchmarks. To do this right-click a benchmark and select the Add GPS Coordinates option.
You could also import the .lfgps files to your point cloud dataset. You would then have to go to each dataset, create new GPS benchmarks by selecting the GPS benchmarks under Project benchmarks and then geo-reference the point cloud. This creates an Earth frame under the point cloud dataset node. You can then use the same GPS benchmarks to geo-reference all the other datasets in the project.
For details on how to create earth frames and geo-reference a point cloud dataset, please see Publish the .xml file
To integrate your cloud project with Google maps:
-
Activate the Earth frames created under each point cloud dataset node by right-clicking the earth frame and selecting Activate.
-
Then right-click the project node and select AVEVA Point Cloud Manager - Viewer GIS Integration data. This uploads the .xml file to the cloud. You should then be able to go in to Viewer maps and see your project at your GPS location.
