Overview of the benchmarks panel

AVEVA Point Cloud Manager has the facility to import and display known site benchmarks with the stored point cloud data. The user can quickly evaluate the overall survey control points used to set out the survey control network, prior to the scan registration process. This gives visual confirmation that suitable care was taken in determining site 'absolute' accuracy of position.

This process also enables the service provider to create additional site reference points, to aid the design process, for example highlighting key tie-in positions.

To prevent project personnel adding unauthorised project survey data, or adjusting the positions of site monuments, Point Cloud Manager displays this information in 'read only' form. This should be set by the service provider using Point Cloud Manager - Generator, and forms part of the project deliverables.
