Demolish volumes

Individual volumes can be Demolished, such as removed/masked from the Dataset. This is particularly useful when scanned data does not want to be considered for clash evaluation, the points are temporarily removed from the Dataset, so are no longer visible in Point Cloud Manager and the linked CAD package.
You can now apply demolition and restoration of volumes within new BubbleView resources. The restoration is then reflected in the BubbleView.
To demolish points within the Dataset:
-
First, select a volume that encompasses the points to be hidden. For information about volume selection, please refer to Select volume.
-
When the volume has been identified and renamed, right-click on it and select Demolish. A dialogue appears asking you if you wish to enter a comment about the demolition.

-
Enter a comment and select OK. The points inside the volume will then be demolished. This may take some time depending on the size of the volume. A progress bar is shown whilst the demolition is taking place.
-
You can choose to specify a highlight colour for a demolition by right-clicking the volume and then selecting Demolition > Highlight. This enables you to display demolition planning and status management of demolitions through highlights.
-
After the demolition has been completed, the volume will be displayed red to indicate that the points have been demolished. The points inside the volume will no longer be displayed in the 3D.
-
If you wish to see which points have been demolished, click the drop-down arrow on Demolition Draw and select Demolition on the Visualisation menu as shown below. This colours any demolished points red until the option is changed back to normal.

Note: For cloud projects, you can demolish only non-refined volumes.
Restoring demolished points
To restore the demolished points:
-
Right-click on either the volume or category and select Restore. This may take some time depending on the size of the volume. The progress bar informs you about how much of the restoration has been completed. After this operation is completed, the points are displayed in the 3D as normal and will again be considered during clash checking.
The following images display the points displayed normally, points demolished and demolished points highlighted in red:
