Use clash functionality

To run automatic clash detection between measured points and the SPR model:

  • Within SmartPlant Review, select the main application bar option Tools > Collision detection OR use the F12 key shortcut.

To set up the collision detection parameters and to allow correct checking between modelled objects and the point cloud, follow the steps below and refer to the subsequent images:

  1. In the Collision Detection window, select the Type Filter tab.

  2. Type the Collision set name, and select Point cloud intersections (external data).

  3. Under the Selection tab, select Stationary collisions in selected range cube.

  4. Under the Selection tab, in the Range cube section, select Entire model.

  5. Under the Run tab, in Execution control, select Activate collision detection and activate Single Step.

Clash Result

The following image represents the Clash result that is displayed in the Point Cloud Manager software, which shows clash volumes displayed dynamically over point data.

The following image represents the Clash Volumes that are displayed in text format for manual confirmation and approval.

Individual clashes can be checked and viewed from the clash display list. This is described in greater detail in the the AVEVA Point Cloud Manager Server section.
