Point Cloud Manager enables you to include classification data to your generated dataset. For details on incorporating classification information, see Dataset Generation.
For details on importing .las files, see Data Preparation and Registration.
After the generation process, you can view classified points in the Server Mode under the Classifications tab. The following image displays different classified entities with different colours:

To view the colour classifications in the points dataset, in the Visualisation tab, select the Points drop-down arrow and select Colour classifications.

The dataset is colorized according to the classifications in the entity browser.

To differentiate between the objects in your project, you can also choose to change the colour of your classifications. To do this, right-click on your classification entities in the entity browser and select Change Colour. You can then select any color on the Colour selection page and click OK. The new color of the classification is then displayed in the entity browser.
Identify instances
Instances are objects that comprise a group of points. Point Cloud Manager enables you to navigate around your classified data and identify any instances associated with it.
To identify instances, you must ensure the following:
-
Solid Points are loaded
-
Classification tab is opened
-
You are in the 3D view
For projects that have been classified and instanced, instances can be highlighted by clicking any point on the Solid Point Cloud data. If the selected point data has a corresponding instance ID, all points relating to that same instance ID are highlighted.

Link instances to an asset
Point Cloud Manager enables you to link instances in the point data to an asset. This helps you identify where your assets are located.
Any instance can be linked to one particular asset at a time. You can link multiple instances to an asset.
Steps to link an instance to an asset
-
Open a cloud project that has an Asset library file imported.

-
Switch to Solid Pointcloud. Then, right-click an asset and select Link to model asset. This brings up the Actions tab where you can accept or cancel selected instances.

-
You can then select an instance from the point data, (the selected instance is highlighted in yellow by default), and then select Accept to finish linking. The instance is then linked to the asset.
When you go to the Classifications entity browser and click on any instance, if the instance is associated with an asset, the linked asset is highlighted in the Asset browser.
You can highlight instances in a different color by selecting Highlight > Colour highlight and then selecting a color from the color palette.
