Remap XGEOM for clashing

It is necessary to prepare the point cloud for use with the Clasher. Marine can only clash solid to solid objects, therefore the XGEOM is used as a template to allocate a series of XCELLs which represent the point cloud in solid form. These are stored as child objects within the XGEOM group, and are not visible in the graphical environment. Each XCELL typically covers a volume of 1/3m³.
With the XGEOM as CE, select Remap XGEOM from the AVEVA Point Cloud Manager drop-down menu and save your work.
Confirm if the XCELLs have been processed correctly by expanding the XGEOM in Marine explorer. There will be several folders named XCLTN, each containing XCELLs.
Marine currently expects to handle less than 125,000 XCELLs for clash evaluation, therefore the XCELL scaling changes depending on the overall volume of the dataset.
In a 50-scan Dataset the XCELLs are smaller than a 250-scan dataset, which allow more precise clash checking.
Note: This process is under review by AVEVA and is subject to change in future releases.
Exact clashing is not affected by XCELL size; however, XCELLs must be mapped before any clashing against the point cloud.
The remap process is only required for the first clash check session, all subsequent reviews will access the saved XCELLs.
