Switch to 3D perspective/orthographic views

To switch to 3D perspective or 3D orthographic views:

• At the top-right corner of the screen, select the button below. This displays the points/HyperBubble and Solid Point Cloud data that make up the dataset for 3D viewing.

  

Pressing the Shift Key whilst zooming increases the zoom out speed by a factor of 30. The density of the Floor Grid varies depending upon the view. This prevents the Grid from becoming too dense at long ranges.

Orthographic View Mode is a fast and more flexible way of accessing the data. The user interface has been designed to be simple, efficient and intuitive.

There are two viewports with a variable center frame bar to enable the user to set depending on the shape of the point cloud being interrogated. The right viewport displays the plan view, with the left defaulting to the front view. This view can be redrawn to display side and back views by using the keyboard side arrow keys to change. There may be a redraw delay for large point clouds.

• The user is able to move the central bar to the left or to the right to create a left right split which matches their needs.

• For speed, during interactive panning and zooming, the number of points drawn is reduced until after the operation is completed.
