When you have a minimum of 3 GPS benchmarks under your dataset node, you are ready to publish the GIS .xml file. If you are yet to publish your Viewer project, this will be done automatically as part of the Viewer Project Publishing process. If you are working with an already published Viewer project, you can publish the .xml file as a separate process.
To do this:
-
Create an Earth frame by right-clicking the dataset node and selecting Reference Point Cloud > Georeference Point Cloud.
-
In the Georeference Point Cloud window, select the GPS positions that you want to include and select OK.

Your Earth frame is created with the corresponding GPS benchmarks as shown in the image below.

-
Then, right-click the project node and select Publish > AVEVA Point Cloud Manager - Viewer GIS Integration Data.
You must run Point Cloud Manager in the Advanced mode to access the AVEVA Point Cloud Manager - Viewer GIS Integration Data feature.
-
Select the desired output folder and click Select Folder. A confirmation dialog appears when the publish is complete and a .xml file is created at the selected location.
-
In the .xml file that is created, you must edit the following xml tags:
-
<projectLink/> - Enter the project name
-
<siteLink/> - Enter the URL for the Viewer landing page
In the .xml file that is generated, ensure the order of the xml tags is <projectLink/> and <siteLink/> respectively.
-
To export projects that already have GPS benchmarks:
-
Right-click your dataset node and select Import to this point cloud. Browse to the location of your .lfgps file and select Open. The .lfgps file contains the GPS coordinate values.
Important: You should only open files from a trustworthy source.
-
In the window that is displayed, select OK. This adds the GPS benchmarks under the dataset node.
-
You can now create an Earth frame by right-clicking the dataset node and selecting Reference Point Cloud > Georeference Point Cloud. Then, click OK. Your Earth frame is created.
-
Export to Viewer Maps by right-clicking the project node and selecting Publish > AVEVA Point Cloud Manager - Viewer GIS Integration Data. This then enables you to select your desired output folder.
For how to proceed from this point, please refer to the AVEVA Point Cloud Manager - Viewer Deployment Guide.
