Open local projects

To open a project in a local folder:

1. Go to File > Open > This PC. This opens the file explorer where you can browse for one of the following files:

   • Point Cloud Manager Dataset file [.lfd]

   • Point Cloud Manager project file [.lfm]

2. Select Open. This introduces the laser scanned point cloud in the graphical window in low resolution.

   

   When you switch to Server mode and load either a locally generated project or a cloud generated project, you are presented with a UI opt-in dialog to choose whether you want to include both colour and intensity in your point data.

   

   When you select the Always Switch to Colour option, your project is by default displayed in color. If there are any datasets with intensity only data, they will not be displayed unless you switch out of the colour mode.

   For the Remain in intensity and Switch to Colour options, you can choose to toggle between color and intensity within the Desktop application.
