By default this activates the steering mode flying controls. For details on steering mode flying controls, see AVEVA Point Cloud Manager Server Mode.

Steering movement speed

The speed of flight when in Steering Mode can be changed in File > Options > Project options. This is the default flying mode used for HyperBubble and Solid Point Cloud. For smaller datasets, Walking/Average Car is appropriate. As datasets get geographically bigger, a faster steering moving speed is more fitting.

For example, a laser scan of a long road or motorway will benefit from setting the steering moving speed to Running/High Speed Train, allowing you to fly through larger areas of data more quickly.

If you are experiencing slow performance when viewing Solid Point Cloud data, you may wish to reduce the resolution to enable faster performance. The Solid Point Cloud resolution can be changed in File > Options > View, where you can select either Full, Half, Quarter or Eighth resolution.
