Create an access permissions spreadsheet

To create a spreadsheet that contains all the existing access permissions on your Data Archive server, create the following three separate spreadsheets and merge them together:

• Point Data and Point Configuration

  Use PI Builder to import all your point security information into an Excel spreadsheet. Do this for all point classes. Which attributes you need to import depends on which version of the Data Archive server you are using.

  • For PI Server 3.4.380 and later, import the ptsecurity and datasecurity attributes (these attributes are new in PI Server 3.4.380).

  • On earlier versions of the Data Archive server import the dataowner, datagroup, ptowner, ptgroup, dataaccess, and ptaccess attributes.

• Modules

  Use Module Database Builder to export all module security information into a spreadsheet.

• Database Security

  Open the Database Security tool in PI SMT. Click the Export To File button to export the list into a .csv file. Open that file in Excel.
