You may need to move where PI Analysis Service is running from one server to another server. Each instance of PI Analysis Service runs analytics for a single PI AF application service. Therefore, you must specify the new host machine for PI Analysis Service in PI System Explorer.
-
Stop PI Analysis Service on the current host machine.
-
Download and install PI Analysis Service on the new host machine using the PI Server install kit. See Install PI Analysis Service.
PI Analysis Service installation is part of the PI Server install kit.
-
At the Feature Selection window appears, select the checkbox for PI Analysis Service.
-
At the AF Server window, specify the name of the existing PI AF server desired for this new PI Analysis Service installation.
Once this is done, you will be prompted in the AF Server Rules window to confirm whether or not you want this new PI Analysis Service installation to take over in place of the existing PI Analysis Service installation instance.
-
At the AF Server Rules window, select the checkbox to enable this new installation of PI Analysis Service to run analysis for the desired PI AF application service specified in the previous step.
-
At the Service Accounts window, specify or select the default service accounts for PI Analysis Service.
The default account for PI Analysis Service is NT SERVICE\PIAnalysisManager.
-
Follow the remaining setup prompts to complete the installation.
-
Start PI Analysis Service on the new host machine.
-
Verify that the PI AF server is using the newly-installed PI Analysis Service on the new host machine.
-
Launch PI System Explorer and click Database in the toolbar.
The Select Database window appears.
-
Double click the Configuration database.
-
Expand OSIsoft and navigate to PIANO > AnalysisService > ServiceConfiguration in the left pane.
The ServiceConfiguration properties appear.
-
Click on the Attributes tab in the properties.
-
For the ServiceConfiguration attribute, verify the parameter value for specifies the new host machine.
A dot (".") in between these values indicates that the PI AF server is configured for PI Analysis Service located on the host machine.
