AVEVA™ PI Server Installation and Configuration (PI Server 2018)

Learn about mappings for Windows workgroups

  • Last UpdatedFeb 12, 2025
  • 1 minute read

In this deployment scenario, the Interface node and/or Data Archive are configured for access in a Windows workgroup. In a workgroup, all users and passwords are local to each machine and thus requires effort to manage them (keep the credentials all identical).

  • If the Windows account (User1) is a local account, then create the same account (User1) on the Data Archive with same credentials as the account on the Interface node. Map ServerNode\User1 to Identity1.

  • If the Windows account (User1) is a either Local System account or Network Service account, you must change the user account for the Interface node to use a local account to enable Windows authentication. See Task 4: Change the login credentials for your interfaces.
