Learn about test history recovery

If an interface node does not use buffering, verify that its history recovery process is working properly.

Disconnect the interface node from the network for a few minutes and then reconnect it.

When the node is reconnected to the network, the interface should historically recover data from its data source and you should see a continuous flow of data in the application you use to view Data Archive data, such as PI ProcessBook or PI SMT. For example, you can use Archive Editor in PI SMT to check that data for a frequent archiving tag is continuous.

Also verify that historical data is recovered if you are using PI Connectors.
