Learn about disabling PIWorld

You can disable the PIWorld identity. This improves your control over access to the Data Archive server. All users get only the access that is explicitly configured for them and no more. The decision to disable PIWorld should not be taken lightly.

• For Data Archive server upgrades, or for new installations that are part of an existing configuration of PI interfaces and client applications, disabling PIWorld is a dangerous measure that could unintentionally lock down areas of access. It is very difficult to determine in advance which users or applications are relying on PIWorld access. If you need to disable PIWorld in these situations, contact technical support via the Customer Portal.
