  1. See System requirements for PI AF Server to verify the most current system requirements.

  2. Log on to your Windows system using an account with administrator privileges.

  3. Review SQL Server roles and permissions and PI AF to help determine the appropriate SQL Server user roles and permissions for your PI AF. Refer also to PI AF security for some recommendations to consider around the AF SQL database implementation for your PI AF.

  4. Ensure that you have the requisite privileges on the SQL server to install the AF SQL scripts necessary to create the AF SQL database. See SQL Server installation guidelines.

  5. Synchronize time settings on host computers.
