Move only the primary (new FQDN)

In this scenario, the original primary Data Archive is still online and collecting data. Due to limitations in connection speed and capacity between the primary and secondary Data Archive server, move the primary server to a new computer. As a result, the name and the FQDN of the primary Data Archive changes on the primary Data Archive.

1. Install the same version Data Archive on the target computer. See Install on the target computer.

2. Add the new Data Archive as a secondary Data Archive in the existing collective. See the High Availability topic Add a secondary server to a PI Data Archive collective.

3. Drop the old primary Data Archive.
