AVEVA™ PI Server Installation and Configuration (PI Server 2018)

Remove the primary server from a PI AF collective

  • Last UpdatedOct 02, 2024
  • 1 minute read

Removing the primary server from the PI AF collective disassembles the collective so that only individual servers remain, which you can then upgrade.

Note: If you remove the primary PI AF server from a collective while the collective is still replicating, the entire collective is removed. The subscription is dropped on both ends (primary server and secondary server). All agents are stopped. The PIFD_distribution database is deleted. All replication is halted and cannot be restarted.

  1. In AF Collective Manager, select the PI AF collective that contains the primary server to be removed and click the Properties button.

  2. Click the Collective tab.

  3. Right-click the primary server and select Delete....

  4. Click Yes.

The AF collective is disassembled. The member servers in the collective are converted to standalone servers. Existing data will not be otherwise affected.
