Generate a license file

In contrast to creating an MSF, which is done directly from a Data Archive host machine, you generate a license file on the Customer Portal. From the portal, you can access all of your available products for deployment. Each license file factors in the specific parameters for your license agreement on record with AVEVA through the portal. This can include the license type, operating system of a machine, language, High Availability, data stream limit, PI components add-ons, etc.

The resulting license file enables your specific Data Archive deployment to operate in a manner that complies with the specific parameters of your licensing agreement with AVEVA.
