In this deployment scenario, the Interface node and Data Archive are both located within the same node. The objective is to map User1 to Identity1.
-
Open PI System Management Tool (SMT). From the Windows Start menu, choose All Programs > PI System > PI System Management Tools.
-
Expand Security in the left pane.
-
Select Mappings & Trusts.
-
Click the Mappings tab.
-
Click the New icon to create a new PI mapping.
-
In the Windows Account field, enter the Windows service account, local system account, or domain account identified in Task 3: Identify Windows account for your interfaces (User1).
The PI mapping associates the PI identity (or PI user or PI group) with the Windows service account, local system account, or domain account. Authenticated Windows accounts are automatically authenticated on PI Data Archive through the mapping.
-
In the Server field, select the PI Data Archive server to which you want to create the mapping. In the PI Identity field, enter the PI user or PI group from Task 2: Identify all PI trusts and corresponding PI identities (Identity1).
This PI mapping associates the PI identity (or PI user or PI group) to the Windows service account, local system account, or domain account. With mappings, your accounts are granted access and permissions based upon the corresponding PI identity associated with the mapping on the Data Archive server.
