View licensing parameters

Viewing the parameters of your PI license gives important insight into the usage limits around Data Archive.

You can view the license file either through PI System Management Tool (PI SMT), or by running PI License Manager, pilicmgr, through the command line. See the PI Data Archive topic PI License Manager.

1. Launch PI SMT on the host machine.

2. Click Operation > Licensing on the System Management Tools pane.

3. Expand and examine the parameters of your license.

   Some details of interest are point count limits and usage details found under Resources > pibasess.MaxPointCount and the number of additional HA members found under Resources > pibasess.MaxSecondaryNodeCount.

4. If you see a discrepancy with your license, contact Customer Portal with your InstallationID from PI SMT.
