To handle migration and synchronization, PI Server 2010 and later versions include:

  • PI AF Link Subsystem (PI AF Link) performs the initial migration and manages the two-way synchronization. PI AF Link runs as a Windows service on the Data Archive server.

  • The PI MDB to AF Preparation wizard prepares a Data Archive server for migration (PI MDB to AF Preparation wizard).

  • PI System Management Tools (SMT) includes a tool called AF Link, which helps you configure, monitor, and troubleshoot synchronization.
