Phase 2a: Move a single server

Diagram of the Data Archive move process. Phase 2a: Move a single server is highlighted. It follows Phase 1: Pre-move and leads to Phase 3: Post-move. Phase 2b: Move collective members appears as an alternate path.

The second phase in the move process focuses on moving a single standalone Data Archive server, including tasks such as preparing Data Archive on the target computer, copying the backup files, copying the archive files, and verifying that Data Archive on the target computer is operating properly after the move.

Note: Disable connections to port 5450 on the target server machine using your firewall (PIFIREWALL, Windows firewall, or hardware firewall). After verifying that the target server is up and running properly after restoring the backup from the source server, enable connections to port 5450.

Instead of using this procedure to move a single server, you can use different procedures to move multiple members of a collective to new computers. See Phase 2b: Move collective members.
