Check the known servers table on the server machine to make sure that there are no duplicate IDs except for those that refer to the same physical machine (for example, the hostname and an entry for localhost).

Run regedit.

Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\PISystem\PI-SDK\1.0\ServerHandles
Each PI Server name appears as a registry key. The serverID value contains the ID of that server.
