Products that connect to an application server

Certain PI client applications require a connection to a separate application server in addition to a Data Archive server. Examples include PI DataLink Enterprise Server (PI DLES) and PI WebParts. These types of applications require additional configuration steps if you want to use the new security features.

Note: If you do not reconfigure security and connection settings to use the new security features, you see no change in your application servers. Upgrading to PI Server 3.4.380 does not require that you use its new security features.
