Install PI AF SQL Server database on principal and mirror servers

Before you begin the installation procedure, make sure that you:

• Review the SQL Server considerations for PI AF SQL Server database creation, as described in Pre-installation requirements for PI AF.

• Verify that all SQL Server machines meet the requirements specified by Microsoft. Review the following MSDN article: Prerequisites, Restrictions, and Recommendations for Database Mirroring.

• Download the PI Server install kit onto the PI AF SQL Server computer, as described in Download the PI Server install kit.

Complete the following steps to install the PI AF SQL Server on both the principal and mirror servers.

1. On the principal server, run the PI Server install kit and install the PI AF SQL Server, as described in Install the PI AF SQL Server database.

   When asked to specify a SQL Server on the SQL Server Connection page of the setup kit, enter the name of the principal database server and, if applicable, the SQL Server instance name. Provide the name using this format:

   SQL Server Name[\InstanceName>]

2. Install the PI AF SQL Server on the mirror server.
