Prepare the interfaces and client nodes for the move. Follow the steps outlined in the topic: Determine whether Data Archive will change IP Address or host name.
-
Open a command prompt window, navigate to the PI\adm directory, and enter at the command prompt.
The server should begin collecting data from the buffered interface nodes.
-
Examine the PI Message Log. If you have intentionally not copied all archives to the target Data Archive node, you will see archive files not-found errors, which can be ignored.
-
Copy the remaining archives from the source Data Archive. Restart PI Archive Subsystem on the target node to bring the remaining archives online.
-
Verify that the target Data Archive is functioning correctly. For example, verify that PI Performance Equations, PI Totalizer, and PI Alarm perform as expected, by looking at the snapshot and archive events.
-
Configure backups on the target Data Archive.
For more information on backups, see the PI Data Archive topic PI Data Archive backups.
-
Verify that the full path names in site-specific files, such as pisitebackup.bat, are still valid.
-
If MDB is enabled on Data Archive, then use the MDB to AF Synchronization tool in PI SMT to check the status of the synchronization between MDB and AF. If MDB and AF are out of sync, then use the MDB to AF Synchronization tool to reset MDB.
For more information, see the PI MDB to AF Transition Guide or the online help for the MDB to AF Synchronization tool.
