PI API 2018 Patch 2 for Windows Integrated Security is available as a standalone setup kit on the Customer Portal. The kit contains both 32-bit and 64-bit versions of the software.

After configuring PI mappings to replace any existing PI trusts or explicit logins on PI API, you are ready to install/update it to PI API 2018 Patch 2 for Windows Integrated Security.

Caution: PI API 2018 Patch 2 for Windows Integrated Security does not support PI trusts and explicit logins. On upgrade, PI Mappings must be configured to replace any existing PI trusts or explicit logins

For detailed instructions on this preparation process, see Configure PI interface connections using PI mappings.

  1. Download the setup kit on the Interface node from the Customer Portal.

  2. Run the installation program to install the PI API 2018 Patch 2 for Windows Integrated Security files. The setup kit will use the existing installation path.

  3. Specify the Data Archive hostname for a new PI API installation. For a PI API upgrade, the setup will use the existing settings.

  4. Follow the remaining prompts to finish the installation.

  5. Run the interface as an automatic Windows service.

  6. Verify that the interface is running properly.

    1. Open PISDKUtility to view the logged interface messages.

    2. Open PI SMT and expand Operation on the left pane.

    3. Select Network Manager Statistics.

    4. Ensure that the connection is using the proper account and PI Identity.

  7. Disable the existing PI trust(s) replaced by the new PI mapping(s).
