AVEVA™ Point Cloud Manager

24.3.0 on CONNECT release

  • Last UpdatedMay 07, 2025

The following feature updates were made as part of the 24.3.0 on CONNECT release:

  1. CONNECT generation with colour only

When generating a dataset through the project administration page, there is now the option to generate only colour data. This will display datasets in colour mode directly within Point Cloud Manager Desktop and E3D.

  2. 3D model fading

3D objects are rendered with a 20cm offset, this is to enable the user to see the objects on top of the point data. A new setting is within the options menu allowing offset to be reduced.

  3. Orbit Mode – Context Viewer

Orbit mode within the 3D Context Viewer now scales with scrolling the mouse wheel. This increases the area visible in the Orbit mode, making visibility around the objects easier.

Double-clicking while in Orbit mode will now move the focus of the orbit to the new point.

In Flythrough mode double-clicking on an annotation will enter Orbit mode around that annotation.

  4. BubbleView history

We have added a section at the top of "Datasets" in Navigation sidebar that lists recently opened BubbleViews. This makes it easier to navigate between recent BubbleView sites.
