System Management Server and local node common platform certificate settings

System Management Server (SMS) uses security certificates to ensure that communication between nodes is encrypted. Use the Common Platform System Management Server Advanced Configuration dialog Certificate tab settings to configure security certificates and enable communications between nodes through encrypted channels.
Important: If an SMS generated self-signed certificate is used for securing Windows Communication Foundation (WCF) middleware endpoints, the certificate may renew monthly. If the MES middleware host service is started at the same moment, the middleware will not start due to certificate errors. To address this, wait a few minutes, and restart the MES middleware host service.
For more information on configuring certificates on nodes where System Platform is installed, refer to the System Platform Installation Guide.
For information on configuring certificates on nodes without System Platform, see Configure certificates for secure communication on nodes without System Platform.
