Import .NET controls for use in AVEVA OMI panes

For use in OMI, the .NET Controls are installed in the MES\MES OMI Controls folder during the installation. To make any of the controls available for insertion into an AVEVA Operations Management Interface (OMI) pane, you import the entire MES\MES OMI Controls folder. Alternatively, you can import the MESOMIControls.aaPKG file.

If you import a newer version of the .NET controls that are already used in an OMI pane, you need to restart OMI.

If you import a newer version of the .NET controls that excludes controls that are no longer used (for example, the Entity Usage Editor, or the Labor Usage Editor), the deprecated controls will not be available for use in the OMI pane.

To import the .NET controls, you must have security permissions to import graphic objects.

  1. Open the System Platform Integrated Development Environment (IDE).

  2. From the ribbon, select Galaxy, then Import.

  3. Select Visualization, then OMI Apps.

The Import OMI App dialog appears.

  4. Do one of the following:

    1. Browse to and select the MES application \MES OMI Controls folder, then click OK.

The Import OMI App dialog shows the import progress.

Note: If the import fails, a message indicates the error in the dialog box.

When the import is complete, click Close.

    2. Alternatively, import the MESOMIControls.aaPKG file that contains all the MES .NET controls.

  5. To see the imported controls, open an OMI ViewApp layout.

  6. In the Toolbox pane, select the .NET Controls app.

The imported controls appear in the pane.
